The Bedel family has been involved in Champagne production for around three generations. The current member of the family to run the domaine is Francois Bedel and her family. They have around 8 hectares of vineyards situated in several towns either side of the river Marne, comprising 79% Pinot Meunier, 14% Chardonnay and 7% Pinot Noir.
Since 1999 Francoise has cultivated all the vineyards according to biodynamic techniques. “The viticulture methods preclude the use of any synthetic chemical products and acknowledges that the fact that the earth is a living organism. In this regard our domaine is considered a living body. Our goal is to make a well balanced, high quality and harmonious wine”.
The wines are all produced using traditional methods from the pressing of the grapes through to aeging and manual remuage. The Dis, Vin Secret is 86% Pinot Meunier, 6% Chardonnay and 8% Pinot Noir. A blend of the 3003 vintage with some Vin de Reserve aged in a mix of enamel lined cuvees and oak barrels, degorged in September 2007
The Entre Ciel et Terre is a blend of 72% Pinot Meunier, 14% Chardonnay and 14% Pinot Noir. Made from a blend of the 1999 vintage with some 1998 Vin de Reserve aged in enamel lined cuvees, degorged between October 2006 to March 2007.
And finally their flagship cuvee the Comme Autrefois is a blend of 78% Pinot Meunier, 13% Chardonnay and 9% Pinot Noir. Aged entirely in oak barrels and exclusively from the 1998 vintage, degorged in November 2007.
