1999 Rioja 'Grandes Anadas', Bodegas Artadi (per 6x75cl) The Grandes Anades has been made twice before in the 94 and 98 vintages. A special selection of the Pago Viejo vineyards, it is made from 100% Tempranillo that has been aged in new French oak. The dense and focused Anadas is a highly structured red packed with fruit and full of flavor. It is the more muscular and masculine component to the supple El Pison. Hold this wine easily through the next 10-20 years.

2002 Navarra 'Artazuri Garnacha' A rich, expressive nose. Now showing port like blackcurrant/ cherry. Lovely sweetness with herby notes. This has definitely fattened out. Dry, low acidity, low tannins. Very rich, port like, blackcurrant/ cherry and herbs. Lovely sweetness, soft and mouthfilling, very long and fruity. (CG)

2004 Navarra 'Santa Cruz' A stunning depth of liquor like black/ redcurrant and berry fruit, integrated vanilla oak, herbs and spices with that floral violet note. It has a greater elegance and a more refined nature with a developing coffee/ spice note. Full bodied, medium acidity, medium ripe tannins. Seamless and multi-layered, rich, ripe red/ blackcurrant/ berry fruit. Very intense with violets, herbs, coffee tobacco and chocolate/ mocha. The port like notes come through on the finish along with the spicy oak. This wine is like a seamless symphony, moving effortlessly from fruit beginning to its end.
