2004 St Joseph Blanc 'Deschants' Clean, aromatic, youthful aromas of crisp, spicy apricot, minerals, creamy nuts plus a slight grassiness and citrus note. Dry, low to medium acidity, quiet weighty, delicately spiced apricots. Lovely, intense, soft nutty/ buttery middle, slightly grassy with a very long mineral finish. Lovely balance of acidity and ripe fruit with a touch of peach on the after taste. (CG)

2005 Ermitage 'Pavillon' Magnums (per 1x150cl) Exhibits a saturated ruby/purple color as well as a big, sweet nose of camphor, ink, creme de cassis, and hints of licorice as well as smoke. Although dense, rich, and full-bodied, the 2001 reveals more acidity in its delineated, nervous personality. Unquestionably great and intense, it will be less charming and precocious than its 2000 sibling. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2030 (RP)

2004 Limestone Coast Shiraz Clean, very ripe and fruity aromas of pure blackcurrant. Quite sweet and kirsch like with a touch of black cherry. Lots of depth with a slight perfumed note and no oak. Clean, dry, soft ripe tannins, low acidity, medium bodied. Nice depth of peppery, pure, ripe, blackcurrant fruit. Straightforward, fruity and very drinkable. Good length and structure. (CG)
