The roots of this property?s 64 Hectares plunge deep into the best limestone-clay soils of Cars, a small community near Blaye. It is here that Catherine and Jean-Luc Hubert continue their family tradition of producing superior quality wines from Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. All their vines are tended by hand, using organic viticultural techniques. Above all Chateau Peybonhomme-les-Tours embodies a character that is unique and distinctive.

2002 Cote de Blaye Rouge Clean, youthful aromas of ceder, wood, very pure blackcurrant and a touch of oak – Lovely depth. Dry, earthy, ceder and blackcurrant flavours, medium acidity, low-medium tannins, lovely spicy middle. Good length and structure. Long, complex fruity finish. (CG)
