This domaine is run today by two brothers Herve and Pascal. They have sold the family vineyards in Saumur in order to concentrate on the 27 hectares they own in the Layon and 2 in Savennieres.
Yields are controlled to an absolute minimum and the harvest is meticulously carried out with several tris. (separate pickings of each parcel). The different tris are fermented parcel by parcel in a range of impeccably maintained and temperature-controlled oak foudres.
The Clos les Treize Vents is a splendid cuvee offering quite incredible value. It is a delicious, sweet, peach/apricot nectar with a clean, lift of acidity. The finish is long but fresh, not heavy and cloying. Exquisite!
