Domaine de la Bergerie is an amazing source of brilliantly made, good value wines. The 24 hectares of vineyards are situated on the pebble and flint, south facing slopes on the banks of the river Cher. These are some of the finest sites of Touraine. Every respect is paid to quality. Low yields are encouraged by growing grass between the vine rows and by practising short pruning and a summer eclaircissage. The grapes are carefully selected at optimum ripeness and fermented under temperature control. The depth, extraction and balance on both wines is incredible. The Sauvignon is matured sur lie and macerated on the skins.
